Good news came out of Apple today when they pushed an updated version of Apple Remote for iPhone and iPod Touch. The great news is it’s optimized for the iPad. The Apple Remote allows users to control iTunes and Apple TV over WiFi from their iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. I’ve been testing it on the iPad and it’s pretty slick.

Google Voice Is Back With Two Great Apps
After 14 long months, Google Voice is finally back in the app store with two great native apps. Under government pressure and increased competition, Apple finally relaxed their developer rules which opened the door for more creative and innovative programs. I’ve been using GV Mobile + and GV Connect for a week now, and they make making Google Voice calls as seamless as making an iPhone call.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
Blancspot is a cool news app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that captures the world’s news in a different way. While many news apps are mere readers of sorts, Blancspot creates an environment that literally captures the essence of the story through professional photography and music.

Hungry Shark Wets My Appetite
Hungry Shark for the iPhone and iPod Touch is one of those games that keeps you coming back for more. From the time the shark drops down into the water, it’s constant mayhem as you try to eat everything in sight…just to say alive. If you don’t, your hungry meter gets low and you’ll starve to death. However, if you eat everything in sight (well, not everything), you’ll begin to see the shark grow bigger, become more ferocious and you’ll earn lots of points and stay alive.

Rediscover Your Music Library With Album Wall
Album Wall is so simple and clever, it should have been integrated into Apple’s native iPod software. This is one of those apps that leaves you thinking…why didn’t I think of that!

Zinio – Your Personal Electronic Newstand
I’ve had Zinio on the iPad and iPhone for some time now. As a professional aviator (and part-time blogger), I was happy to find Flying magazine, Aviation Week and Aviation International News on here. While these magazines may sound boring, it proves that Zinio has done a great job securing a deep level of trade mags for many different industries. It’s hard not to give props to Zinio as well when you see magazines like Billboard, The Economist, Rolling Stone, Car & Driver and National Geographic on here too. But how is it to read an entire digital magazine on the iPad or iPhone? And what about the cost? Read on as I give you my take on the practicality of buying and viewing content through Zinio.

App Tue for iPhone Hits The App Store
App Tue, our blog for the latest apps, news and hardware coming out of Cupertino, is now available in the iTunes app store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The Wait Is Over For Chopper 2
The long awaited Chopper 2 hit the app store today and it’s on sale for $2.99. It’s available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch…in glorious HD!

Angry Birds Makes For Great Fun
If you enjoyed using a slingshot as a kid, then you’ll enjoy Angry Birds for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s quite addictive and will put your trajectory skills to the test.

“You Gotta See This” Cool iPhone 4 App
If you love photography and have more than a handful of photo apps on your iPhone…then this one’s for you! it’s appropriately named You Gotta See This because it creates very cool panoramic shots in a unique way. More of a collage than one single seamless image.

Get Your Free iPhone Bumper
Today Apple announced the launch of its free iPhone 4 case program. If you purchase an iPhone 4 prior to September 30, you are eligible for a free case. The program was announced July 14 when Steve Jobs took center stage to handle the overwhelming demand for answers to the iPhone 4 antenna crisis.

Flipboard For iPad…A Slick Magazine Style E-Reader
Flipboard for the iPad just hit the app store yesterday and is already being garnered as the hottest magazine-style e-reader to date. And I agree. Flipboard aggregates content by pulling it from Web sites and then delivering it to iPad’s around the world in a beautiful magazine-style layout.

Line2…A Really Useful Second Line
I have to say Line 2 is a pretty cool and useful app. It’s hard to call it just an app because it really is more than that. It’s a sophisticated piece of software that allows you to seamlessly have a second line with its own number. The software is so slick that you feel like you’re using the native iPhone software.

iPhone 4 Press Conference This Friday
This Friday, Apple, Inc. will be holding a press conference to discuss the iPhone 4 antenna issue. Since the debut of the iPhone last month, the latest version of the device has been plagued with poor reception problems, depleted bars and loss of signal all together. The problem has not been limited to any one geographical area. In fact, handset’s across Europe have experienced the same issue.

Polarize Your Cool Shots
I found a cool photo app today and it’s called Polarize by Christopher Comair. It does a pixel by pixel rendition of your photo for the best polarized quality. You can even add a caption at the bottom around the white frame. The polarized example is a photo I took from the cockpit. Definitely worth

Scan It.. iPhone Style
A few months ago I finally cut ties with my landline, and I had a good number too. But one thing I forgot about was that I was also giving up my fax machine. I often have to fax docs to the office. I guess I could scan it into my computer and email it

The new app tue!
Welcome to the new app tue, a blog dedicated to cool apps made for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. We’re just like you, a bunch of guy’s that enjoy discovering the next awesome app that makes our Apple devices come to life. But like you, we like hearing about the latest hardware, software and company news out of Cupertino…so we’ll post about that stuff, too.

The New iPhone 4…worth the upgrade?
Today, Apple announced the new iPhone 4, due out June 24th and up for pre-order next week. The 16GB will cost $199 while the 32GB will be available for $299, subsidized by AT&T of course, with a new 2 year contract. It even comes in two colors – black and white models. No 64GB model and no word on a Verizon phone either.

The Impossible Game
I don’t play a lot of games on the iPhone, however, The Impossible Game has me rather addicted. It’s quite simple really; tap the screen to make the cute little orange square jump over black triangles and land on black squares as they move across the screen. Hitting triangles takes you back to the beginning

Camera Zoom…Zoom In, Zoom Out!
There are many features we would really like that Apple seems to continually leave out of their native software. Zooming in and out is one of them. Camera Zoom, one of the top 10 apps in the app store, has gotten a bad rap by users lately – for not being 3.0 compatible. Well, complain

Rock Band Hits The App Store
You’ve heard it here first everyone! Rock Band by Electronic Arts, the well known music band game and competitor to Guitar Hero, hit the App Store tonight. It’s available for download over WiFi for only $9.99. I’ve taken it for a test drive and the look, feel and sound of the Rock Band iPhone app

The 60′s Are Back With Vintage Video Maker
I’ve always enjoyed transforming my iPhone photo’s into cool looking vintage shots that many apps allow you to do with the push of a button. However, the same capabilities for video on the 3GS have been slow to hit the app store. Probably because the development process takes some time to bring them to market.

Apple News & Rumors Fix On The Go
I have to admit, I’m a bit of a news junkie and always on the hunt for the latest Apple products to come out of Cupertino. But what I find more interesting are all the rumors and speculation that circulate the online blogs about Apple’s next move. The iTablet, as everyone calls it, is the next hot product to hit the rumor mill. We all hope it lives up to the hype.

One Of The Best Apps Isn’t Even An App
Who knew you could add all sorts of calendars to your iPhone calendar? You name it, iCal World – courtesy of BGR) has it. Plus, it’s really easy to populate your calendar – with everything from US Holidays to movie releases or even something obscure, such as The Broom Street Theatre schedule. It looks like they have thousands of calendars from which you can choose to subscribe.

B&N Nook For iPad Comes To Life
Of all the brick and mortar book stores, I’m still a huge fan of Barnes & Noble. When the Nook device came out, I even paid a few extra bucks to pick one up on eBay. I love the Nook, but when the iPad was released, I just couldn’t pass it up. But I still have a soft spot for the Nook and glad B&N updated their eReader and released Nook for iPad.
App Tue for iPhone Hits The App Store
App Tue, our blog for the latest apps, news and hardware coming out of Cupertino, is now available in the iTunes app store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. We worked really hard over the past few month’s to develop the app and we’re excited to make our blog available as a stand-alone application for Apple devices.
